The Silverwood
Lake camping opened out first 2005 season of St Boniface
camping for all TNTT, we had the attendance of less than
100 TNTT, Tro Ta and TNTT phu huynh in 3 days, Friday 15
to Sunday 18. More Au Nhi
were present than Thieu and Nghia this time. Many did
not go to camp, and stayed behind at home for the parish
yearly festival. The camp weather was just more than
perfect, blue sky to the horizons, lots ofbreeze, tall
green grass and running water everywhere from the last
raining season. Apparent sign of the season fires swept
through the area left many dead
trees around and scattered them to the distant hills.
The group camp Barranca served its purpose well with the
restrooms, fire pit, cooking stations which were all in
one place under the canopy of overhead lattice
structure. TNTT had everything here with hour-to-hour
activities, “big” game at night after holy fire and…good
foods from TT Chanh, and other help from Phu huynhs, co
chu Chi and Huyen, co Thu, and past HT Long
and Thuy. The cooking competition was always so much fun
among the groups, introducing gourmet dishes of all
kinds and very creative. Fr Tung arrived to the camp to
celebrate the Sunday mass, mingled among TNTT
with words of encouragement, and stayed over for lunch.
The homily was the real excited moment with lots of Q/As
and rewarding prices for the right
answers from Fr Tung. Kids were dancing in spirit to
greet Fr Tung at the end.
